Designed and constructed by Strongwood Log & Timber Homes, the house boasts exquisite detailing in every inch of the spacious floor plan.
Upon approaching the house, we are immediately struck by how seamlessly the combination of materials knits together.
Wood and stone make up this inviting home. The facade has attractive poplar bark shingles which will age beautifully to create an exterior of rich tones.
The main sitting room is an inviting and cozy living space. The custom stone fireplace will create a snug environment, while the window seat is a cute addition for quiet reflection.
The kitchen is often the heart of a home, and this house has an enormous offering with abundant attractive features. The large breakfast bar and island make this room a social space for everyone to hang out.
The irregularity of the kitchen actually works very well to create an interesting and unique room. Note the use of different colored cabinets, wood & stone counter tops, and white pine laminate above the range. On paper, this asymmetrical kitchen shouldn't work, but it reality it is dazzling and inspiring.
The dining area completes the open-concept living area and is denoted by a birch surround and plenty of natural light. The high-end flooring is continuous throughout the entire ground floor and has the rustic appearance of reclaimed wood.
As we enter the ground-floor master bedroom, we see how the large glass doors and whitewashed walls combine to create a room which is filled with natural light. The reclaimed barn boards are a prominent feature throughout the house, treated with the appropriate tone for each individual room.
The master bathroom is incredibly spacious and includes two vanities. The sitting basins are served by an antique faucet, showing a great appreciation of simplicity of rustic design.
This contemporary hybrid home includes a number of bonus rooms which can be tailored to suit the interests of the owner. These custom-made barn doors are a rustic-chic entrance into the study.
The perfect home office! (Shotguns optional.)
Even the staircase boasts the mark of a high-end construction. You can clearly see how the symphony of reclaimed woods shows intricate nuances in every corner.
A second bedroom - located on the upper floor - continues with the theme of the bright, white space. What a pleasant place to wake up in the morning - idyllic!
The upstairs bathroom has been well thought-out and includes a sitting space and plenty of storage capacity.
A third bedroom is ideal for children and includes access to a loft area which is suited for indoor games.
The loft also includes a quiet retreat-within-a-retreat; perfect for movie time with the family or a loved one.
The abundant outdoors space overlooks the glistening lake. What a scene! The log home lifestyle is often about enjoying the outdoors. I cannot imagine a better place to gather with my friends than around this stunning outdoor fireplace.
